Candy McVicar

  • Executive Board Chair

Candy McVicar lives near the coast of South Carolina with her husband, Stephen, with whom she has shared nearly 27 years of marriage and ministry. She is an inspirational speaker, resonant author, and holistic health coach deeply passionate about helping others flourish—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Candy’s life and calling were profoundly shaped by the stillbirth of her daughter Grace in 2001. In the midst of grief, she co-founded The Missing GRACE Foundation, an organization dedicated to providing support, resources, and a place of healing for families experiencing pregnancy and infant loss, infertility, and adoption challenges. Today, she serves as the organization’s Executive Director, leading with compassion, strength, and unwavering purpose.

With extensive experience walking alongside bereaved families, Candy has worked closely within healthcare systems, supporting parents during some of life’s most difficult moments. She has facilitated grief support groups for both parents and grandparents, trained group facilitators, and spent ten years supporting hundreds of families in hospital birthing rooms and NICUs. Her work has also included serving as a doula, offering photography and videography services to help families create meaningful and lasting memories during times of loss.

Driven by a passion for advocacy, Candy led legislation efforts in Minnesota to grant parents of stillborn babies the right to receive a birth certificate. This bill was successfully signed into law and enacted on August 1, 2005—bringing long-overdue recognition, dignity, and validation to these children and their families.

Candy has hosted annual GRACE conferences, bringing together experts from across the nation to equip care professionals and families with education, resources, and hope. She has been featured on platforms such as Fox News, Focus on the Family, and Building Relationships with Dr. Gary Chapman, and regularly speaks at hospitals, clinics, universities, churches, and conferences. Her voice resonates with authenticity, compassion, and a deep understanding of the healing journey.

Candy is a grief and trauma specialist, helping individuals, couples, and families grow closer, heal deeply, and rediscover hope. She is passionate about holistic wellness and finds joy in preparing nourishing meals, taking long walks along the coast, and capturing the beauty of light dancing on the water.  Above all, her faith in Yeshua, remains her foundation—guiding her work, shaping her perspective, and sustaining her through every season.

She is the proud mother of four children—two daughters on earth, Tatum and Talyah, and two in heaven, Grace and Promise. Candy treasures her role as a mother and loves spending time with her family.
