GRACE Care Packages
WHAT IS A GRACE CARE PACKAGE?
Missing GRACE Foundation provides grief resources designed and packaged into GRACE Care Packages with care to guide, support, and comfort parents during this difficult time. These materials and resources have been carefully chosen by grieving parents for grieving parents. Each item has a specific purpose which has been chosen based on many years of first-hand experience working directly with parents in the hospital and in facilitating grief support groups.
The GRACE Care Packages – Pearl, Jewel, Crown, Prince and Princess, are made specific to the gestation and gender of the baby with items helpful for before, during and just after birth. "Tailor-Made" packages are custom made for mom and dad to be given after the baby or infant has already passed (the miscarriage is completed, or the baby/infant has been buried or cremated already). We also have a "Solace" package to comfort mothers in the first year without their precious baby.
All packages include a GRACE resource folder (timely literature to help guide and answer parents’ questions), a handmade blanket, a memorial cradle, a journal and pen, a plush bear, a baby in angel wings figurine, and personal care items (calming bath salts, soothing lip balm, luxurious soap). Then, depending on the kind of GRACE Care Package and the gestation of the baby, they will include a couple books: “Holding on to Love After You’ve Lost a Baby” and “The Process of Suddenly” (20+ weeks); “Letters to a Miscarried Mom” and “Too Soon a Memory” (up to 19 weeks). A framed shadow box with molding material to capture hand and foot impressions is also included for babies 20+ weeks. Some packages may include seasonal items when available such as ornaments and flower seed and/or materials from our partners including coupons for specialty memorial items. (Please note: Missing GRACE reserves the right to substitute items of equal or greater value should there be a supply shortage.)
GRACE Care Packages can be shipped anywhere in the United States or picked up at our Resource Center in Saint Michael, MN on Wednesdays between 11 AM - 4 PM or by appointment.

WHEN IS IT BEST TO GIVE A GRACE CARE PACKAGE?
As soon as parents receive an unfavorable diagnosis in their pregnancy indicating the baby may not survive or shortly after their baby has been born while still in the hospital, at their home birth or shortly after they have died but before the baby has been buried or cremated.
There are time sensitive items in the GRACE Care Packages to help moms through a miscarriage and items to use while they have their baby with them such as the hand and foot molding kit, hand and foot ink print card, baby outfit, burial gown, hat and blanket.

WHO CAN ORDER A GRACE CARE PACKAGE?
Anyone – bereaved parents, family and friends, nurses, doctors, chaplains, social workers, church staff, or funeral home directors.
Family and friends can purchase the package of their choice to give in support of their loved one going through the pregnancy or infant loss.
Care professionals may be interested in keeping GRACE Care Packages on hand for their patients/clients. Typically, a representative from the hospital, birthing center or clinic will order several of each care package to have on hand so they are available when needed.
If your local hospital, clinic or birthing center does not currently provide a GRACE Care Package to their patients, you can help be the change for good, so that others will have this timely resource! Contact your hospital's local labor and delivery, birthing center, ER or NICU to request these resources are provided. If funding is the main issue preventing them from providing a care package, you can donate the GRACE Care Packages to them or help us raise the needed funds to provide them in the near future!
