GRACE Support Group Facilitator
Event Team
In 2001, we lost our first son due to an umbilical cord tumor. He was born via an emergency cesarean, and although our medical team worked hard to save him, they were unable to resuscitate him. Matthew Jacob was born still on November 15, 2001, weighing 8lbs 5oz, and 21in long. He had dark brown hair, long eyelashes, his father’s hands and my nose. We loved him with our whole hearts for the nine months I carried him and for the two days we were allowed to hold him in our arms. We love him still.
When our first son was born, I was working for 3M Co. After our daughter was born, I knew I needed to be with her more than a traditional corporate job would allow. Through a series of events, I returned to school, graduated, and started working as an RN. I was only interested in working with families and babies. Currently, I primarily work for Children’s Minnesota in the Level III NICU at Mercy hospital. I am passionate about my work caring for the grieving and launching families.
I have facilitated the GRACE Support Group for Pregnancy & Infant Loss for many years in Coon Rapids, MN.
