What is a GRACE Care Package?

Missing GRACE Foundation provides grief resources designed and packaged with care to guide, support, and comfort parents before, during and after experiencing a pregnancy or infant loss. These materials and resources have been developed by grieving parents for grieving parents. You will find that each item in the package has a specific purpose which has been chosen based on many years of first-hand experience working directly with parents in the hospital and in facilitating grief support groups. Specifically the literature in our GRACE Resource Folder is a key component, helping answer the tough questions parents will have and that will empower them in the difficult decisions that will need to be made.

GRACE Care Packages can be ordered by phone or email and can be shipped anywhere in the United States.

When is it best to give parents a GRACE Care Package?

As soon as parents receive an unfavorable diagnosis in their pregnancy indicating the baby may not survive or shortly after their baby has been born while still in the hospital, at their home birth or shortly after they have died but before the baby has been buried or cremated.

There are time sensitive items in the GRACE Care Packages to help moms through a miscarriage and items to use while they have their baby with them such as the hand and foot molding kit, hand and foot ink print card, baby outfit, burial gown, hat and blanket.

Who can order a GRACE Care Package?

Anyone can order – nurses, doctors, chaplains, social workers, church staff, funeral home directors, friends and family and the bereaved parents.

Typically a representative from the hospital, birthing center or clinic orders them in advance to have on hand for their patients when there is a demise. The representative from the hospital reorders as needed to ensure there are always extras of each variation on hand. The order form for hospitals and clinics can be faxed or emailed. Upon receipt of an order, we process, fulfill and ship within 48 hours.

Friends and family can purchase the package of their choice to give as a gift as a way to support their friend or loved one going through the pregnancy or infant loss.

Additionally, there is the shipping and handling fee which averages $20 for a single GRACE Care Package depending on the distance mailed and the contents. For example, if additional/duplicated items are added for parents losing multiples (or as gifts for their living children), then the cost will increase due to weight of those added items.

If your local hospital, clinic or birthing center does not currently provide a GRACE Care Package to their patients, you can help be the change for good, so that others will have this timely resource! Contact your hospital's local labor and delivery, birthing center, ER or NICU to request these resources are provided. If funding is the main issue preventing them from providing a care package, you can donate the GRACE Care Packages to them or help us raise the needed funds to provide them in the near future!

Your donations can help us continue to make these invaluable resources available to others in need. DONATE A GRACE CARE PACKAGE
